Maybe it’s because I’m a white dude from Boston, but I’ve always loved the New Balance 574s.
When the brand launched their sneaker customizing platform, I was a little hesitant – why mess with a classic?
It’s the same reason the Jordan brand won’t let you customize most of their OG kicks – brand designer’s colorways are the best.
That was until I did some research into what some custom artists have done. It turns out, the 574 body is perfect for customizations.
To demonstrate, I put together a list of the 22 best New Balance 574 customs on the web right now.
New Balance 574 “Red Devil V2”

I was just doing some research on “custom New Balances” when I stumbled across these amazing red and black 574s. The body of the sneaker has a leatherish feel, complemented perfectly by the red cap toe. We’re not sure who made these – if you know, please drop it in the comments so I can pay respect!

I stumbled on these customs when browsing Google Images to find more customizations. I’m not sure who made them, but I am sure about why they made this list. New Balance 574 “Salmon Toes”
Created by: JP Customs
Ronnie Fieg took the sneaker world by storm in 2015, a large part due to his incredibly clean Asics Gel Lyte 3 salmon toes. JP Customs took these 574s to another universe with the same “salmon toe” colorway that helped put Ronnie Fieg on the map. I’ve always been a fan of JP Customs work, these are definitely no exception.

New Balance 574 “Puerto Ricos”
Created by: Angel Gonzalez/Vagrant Sneaker
Angel Gonzalez of Vagrant Sneaker makes our list yet again with another 574 custom he made back in 2011. Self dubbed the “Puerto Ricos”, the body of the sneaker embodies the red, white and blue of the Puerto Rican flag. Angel made a clean choice using grey in the body of the sneaker as opposed to white, helping the colors in the toe and heel to pop.

New Balance 574 “Gradient Pack” – Orange / Reds
Created by: New Balance
Back in 2012 New Balance released a limited quantity of what they called the “Gradient Pack”. While there were 5 different colorways in the pack, I chose the “Orange and Greys” for this list. If you’re looking to buy these sneakers, good luck, you’ll only be able to find some cheap overseas knock offs or being resoled on eBay.

each time i used to read smaller content which also clear their motive, and
that is also happening with this piece of writing which I am reading now.
The NB customs look nice. I think I deserved new shoes.
I thought I liked the black and red, but then I saw the black plum! This brings me back to the days of my youth when you get a new pair of sneakers and you keep them in the box to preserve that ‘new’ smell. I might have to go and try some sneakers on to get it out of my system.
Yes I like the black plum too! I think I will buy my daughter a pair.
Not easy to decide which to buy, they all look cool and very comfortable.“MR 2s”, are my best choice, love the mix of contrasting colors (magenta, pink, pacific green and black).
The pacific green and black are the best imo.
Wonderful designs on some of these shoes. I think I have some shopping to do for the summer months.
Wow there are some nice looks from NB. The colors are just so inciting.
Thanks for compiling this list. The design is very trendy and the color combinations are awesome!
I had never paid much attention to this brand a couple of years back. I’ve seen their shoes in malls and shoe stores but never had any interest until my sister gave me a pair for my birthday around 5 years ago. I’m more of a hiking boots and hi-cut rubbershoes kinda guy because of the comfort and support I feel when I wear them. The comfort I felt when I wore this brand was truly unexpected. Now, all my low-cut shoes are from this brand.
My favorite among the is the New Balance 574 “Heather Grays. It has a subtle combination of quiet but classic colors and could be paired with any outfit. I have always been a sneakerhead and I would choose this over a pair of Roshes any day.
Love the orange sole of the New Balance 574 “Baseball Pack!!! It looks great and the colorway matches the whole look of the shoes. I’d love to run wearing those, so cool
New balance is a quiet, yet stable brand in my eyes. They must be doing something right as they have definitely stood the test of time.
New Balance has always been a quiet giant. You don’t really hear a lot of noise and commercials from them.. It’s just like they exude this quiet confidence that just works.
Those black & red new balance look solid! I have never really been a NB fan, but after seeing this page I just might become one!
I love the Heather Grey shoe. Nothing too flashy to go with my jeans is what I like.
NB has always been one of my favorite brands, these styles listed are absolutely dope. Are they all available now? I’ll pick em up in a heartbeat, especially those fly lookin’ ones on the bottom!
New Balance has really stepped their game up! I’m really liking the red & blacks!
Wow somebody has got to know who made those New Balance 574 “Red Devil V2”. Why is it such a secret? Seems like the creator would want people to know. These are tight!
I have never own even one pair of new balance in my entire life. Guess it never to late to start coz a few of these have caught my eye!
I see New Balance tryin to come up! I don’t know i’m still a Nike kinda guy.
Those orange NBs got a nice pop to them. They’re unique as well. I think I have just the perfect outfit to set them off!
“The creative team at New Balance dropped this custom colorway right around the MLB All Star game. This “Baseball Pack” features the colors of the New York Mets, hence the baseball driven name.” I did wear different brands of sport shoes, as well the brand for ‘New Balance’ shoes. No matter the reliability of this ‘Baseball Pack’, the shinny blue outlook and shoe-lace let the customers to pay more attention on that.
Glad to see that New Balance has something for everyone. That’s how a smart shoe company should operate.
The yellow/black bee color is a nice combination. It’s not a show that I ordinarily would see.
I really like the New Your Mets one. It’s smart that the released it during MLB season.
The Puerto Ricos are a nice pair. NB does it again!
You;ve done a great job here Ryan, making these list! Keep pumping them out and bringing us the latest and the hottest footwear!
NB is one of my favorite brands. And this custom selection really shows off their versatility and style. Great showcase!
This is a great writeup and that’s a great entry shot with the NB’s stomping in the water. Gives it a real urban flair.
