The Air Jordan 9 was the only model in the entire Air Jordan line that was released when Michael Jordan wasn’t bludgeoning other teams for the Chicago Bulls.
It was the only lucky child in the Air Jordan family to have received the full, undistracted attention of Michael Jordan. Chicago Bulls must have felt jealous, but lucky for the fans, the Air Jordan series reached a new high with the release of this all-flexible Jordan 9.
Designed by the same genius, Tinker Hatfield, the Air Jordan 9 was different (and cleaner). The outsole carried beautiful symbols and inscriptions in foreign languages, including Japanese, Chinese, and others.
The upper of the shoe was cleaner and the molded lace loop running all the way to the bottom, which the previous models had sloughed off, came back in a better, even more comfortable design.
